Shawn and Robin met at church on Valentine's Day this past year. They planned a trip to southwest Florida over the holidays and added a side trip to Key West for New Year's Eve. Robin, however, didn't know about the plan Shawn was working on. He wanted to propose to her on a beach at sunset on New Year's Eve. Shawn and I connected a few days before he got to Key West. He shared with me he was going to get her to dress for the occasion by telling her he was going to take her to a nice dinner. As soon as I heard his plan, I suggested Higgs Beach as the location for the proposal and Salute! on the Beach for their dinner reservation. Their dinner reservation was at 5pm. Around 5:30 he suggested they take a walk out to the water's edge to watch sunset. Right after they took a selfie, he took off their hats, dropped to one knee and proposed. It was a beautiful sunset, a beautiful end to the year and a beautiful start for this newly engaged couple. Congratulations Shawn and Robin!
